CALCULATION

  1. Take a note of the width of your chosen wallpaper i.e. 53cm which is a standard width of most wallpapers and also the length of the roll i.e. 10metres is a standard roll length.
  2. Measure the width of each of the walls you want to cover in your room and divide by the width of the wallpaper.  This will give you the number of drops.
  3. Measure the height of your room and multiply the height by the number of drops to get the meterage required.
  4. Divide by the length of the roll less the stated pattern repeat.  Always round up to the nearest whole number.  This will give you the number of rolls required.
  5. It is recommended that you add an extra roll to allow for wastage.

EXAMPLE

  1. Chosen wallpaper is 53cm and 10 metres in length..
  2. The wall to be wallpapered measures 5m wide by 2.5m high.
You can now calculate the number of drops needed as follows:-
5m (wall width) divided by 0.53m (wallpaper width) = 9.4 drops
  1. Measure the height of your room and multiply the height by the number of drops to get the meterage required.
Calculate the length of wallpaper needed as follows:-   9.4 drops x 2.5m (room height) = 23.6m
  1. Divide by the length of the roll less the stated pattern repeat.  Always round up to the nearest whole number.  This will give the number of rolls required.
Calculate the number of rolls needed:-
23.6m divided by 9.36* (*10m (wallpaper length) – 0.64m (pattern repeat)) =  2.5 rolls.
Rolls are sold in whole lengths so this rounds up to 3 complete rolls.
  1. It is recommended that you add an extra roll to allow for wastage.

Total rolls needed = 4
